A professional with over 20 years of experience. I have played and coached in both Europe and America before joining the team here at Mearns Castle.
My goal is simple – to make players better. I like to think that my extensive client list of beginners, ladies, juniors, seasoned players and professionals is testament to me achieving this.
With my knowledge and expertise I deliver high quality bespoke coaching tailored around you, based on the techniques and mental awareness that it takes to fulfil potential.
Using a simple and effective approach to development, enhanced with the latest technologies. I aim to make you the best player you can be, whatever your ability!

George Boswell is a leading golf Coach who coaches some of Scotland’s best players.
As a coach George enjoys helping golfers of all abilities, from beginner golfers to European Tour Players.
Coaching Highlights
George has coached 2 golfers from the age of 14 to Top 10 The World Golf Amateur Rankings, winning titles on a World Stage, those players being Euan Walker and Robert Macintyre (2024 Scottish Open Champion).
George has also enjoyed coaching 25 (at last count) boy and girl players to their
first team appearance for Scotland in European Team Championships and
Home Internationals.
George has a thriving community of beginner golfers he has coached from total beginner to competent players who now have handicaps and enjoy the social benefits of the game.

George has shadowed and been mentored by some of the Worlds best coaches including Pete Cowan, David Leadbetter, Butch Harmon, Adam Hunter and Michael Hebron (Voted U.S. Teacher Of The Year).
George has his own Trackman System, and has been awarded the title of Trackman Master by The Trackman Company.
George has completed all of Dr Kwon’s Biomechanics Certifications (World renowned Bio-mechanist), and can offer a full body Biomechanics screening/ development plan and bio-feedback with his state of the art 3D biomechanics system (contact for more details).
Regardless of a players level, George aims to help each individual unlock their potential.

Ian has been a PGA professional for over 40 years and has achieved Master professional status along with UKCC Level 3 Coach. Ian has spent the last 35 years studying the game and has worked hard to understand all of the complexities of this wonderful sport and spent many hours learning from some of the best coaches around the world in all departments of the game. Ian has coached British Amateur champions, Scottish champions, US Amateur champions and has coached players to over 20 professional wins. Ian has spent the last 20 years as National coach for Scottish Golf with many team wins including the World Championships in 2008.

Turned professional in 1998 after representing Scotland at boys, youths and senior levels, winning the Scottish Open Amateur Stroke-play championship in 1996. Played on the European Tour until 2015 with 2 victories, 2002 Malaysian Open and 2008 Madeira Islands Open. 19th in 2004 European Order of Merit.
Played in 4 Open championships, 3 USPGA’s and the US Open. Finished 9th in the 2008 USPGA. Represented Scotland 5 times in The World Cup of Golf.
I am enjoying the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and experience to golfers of all levels, from beginners to professionals.
I learned from travelling the world and working with some of the best coaches in the game such as Bob Torrance, Ian Rae and Pete Cowan.

CONOR O'NEILL
MEARNS CASTLE GOLF COACH
Conor turned professional in 2013 after a successful amateur career in which he was ranked Scotland’s no.1 junior in 2010 and represented Scotland at both junior and senior level.
From turning professional Conor has had many career highlights such as:
◦ Winning on the PGA Europro Tour in 2021
◦ Qualifying to play on the DP World Tour’s Scottish Open
◦ Playing competitively in five continents
◦ Ranked in the worlds top 1000 golfers from 2019-2022
Through the years of playing Conor has worked closely with many top coaches, such as Adam Hunter, Mark Loftus and Alan Mcloskey and has always had a passion for learning about the game.
He started his coaching journey in 2019, working with amateurs of all abilities and has a passion for golf and what it can do for people’s lives, health and wellbeing. Conor still works diligently at his own game and it is with that knowledge that he aims to take you from the range to the course with the clearest of minds and enjoy your game while continually improving.
